Robert Walker Joins Underground Solutions, Inc. As Vice President Engineering Applications
Poway, CA (November 1, 2008) - Underground
Solutions, Inc. announced today that Robert Walker, P.E. has
joined the company as a Vice President Engineering Applications.
Mr. Walker was formerly Executive Director of the Uni-Bell PVC
Pipe Association.
During Mr. Walker's 30-year tenure at Uni-Bell, rapid expansion
in the use of buried PVC pipes has made PVC pipe North America's
number one product for our vital water and sanitary sewer
infrastructure markets. On a lineal basis, PVC pipes currently
outsell all alternative pipe materials combined. Mr. Walker, a
highly regarded authority in pipe infrastructure, will focus on
technical development and strategic applications for Underground
Solutions™ innovative Fusible PVC™ and Duraliner™ product
lines.

Mr. Walker has been involved in environmental protection and
stewardship for his entire 35-year, professional career. A strong
advocate for sustainable infrastructure, he serves actively on
numerous professional association committees and on the Governing
Board of Engineers Without Borders (EWB-USA). He frequently
lectures on the need for better performance measures relative to
infrastructure durability, emphasizing the need to select
materials that are inherently well suited for their intended
applications.
Prior to joining Uni-Bell, Mr. Walker worked for the EPA in Ohio
and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, a
Master of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering and a
Master's Degree in Public Administration; all from the Ohio
State University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in
Ohio and Texas.
