Expansion

Expansion is the key step in the Duraliner™ installation process. After the Duraliner™ PVC starting stock is inserted into the host pipe, the ends are capped with our patented expansion hardware.

We then introduce heat and pressure into the starting stock from our computerized Mobile Expansion Vehicle.

As we monitor the process, the starting stock expands until its outside diameter meets the inside diameter of the host pipe.

Expansion Hardware

UGSI expansion hardware:

1. Contains the pressurized hot water that expands the starting stock
2. Restrains the assembly under pressure
3. Sizes the protruding ends to match the outside diameter of the host pipe

Mobile Expansion Vehicles

Underground Solutions has developed a mobile platform to support Duraliner™ expansions. The self-contained vehicle is equipped with a state-of-the-art heat source, circulation system, expansion equipment, sensors, and power source.

The expansion process is controlled by an on-board computerized unit. Built-in safety features produce consistent results with each application.
