City of Stow, OH Expands Use of 16" Fusible C-905® Pipe with New 3,000 LF Water Transmission Main
In May 2008, Underground Solutions, Inc. (UGSI) contracted with Precision Directional Boring to provide UGSI's Fusible C-905® pipe and fusion services for the new Stow North Trunk Main Project. The new water transmission line was installed via Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) in early June 2008. The City accepted the pipeline after the entire 3,000 LF section was pressure tested at 210 PSI for two hours.
This is the second project completed by the City using 16" Fusible C-905® pipe. The first, a water line, was completed in March 2007.

Jerry Dolson, City Engineer with Stow, was pleased with the latest Fusible C-905® installation and is planning additional projects using Fusible PVC™ pipe, stating: "After considering all available pipe materials, I chose Fusible PVC™ pipe because of the ID requirements and minimal space that was available for the bore hole. We were able to successfully install this new C905 water main with minimal impact to the people of Stow and Munroe Falls."
Will Roth, of Precision Directional Boring, commented: "The Fusible PVC™ pipe pulled quite well and UGSI's staff was very accommodating to our schedule and site requirements. I look forward to working with UGSI again in the future."
