Underground Solutions® Fusible C-900® Installed on Martha's Vineyard

In November 2006, Underground Solutions Inc. (UGSI) contracted to provide 3,000 LF of Fusible C-900® for fusing and installation by Farrissey Tele-Comm, a directional drilling sub-contractor. The Fusible C-900® was installed via horizontal directional drilling in accordance with design documents prepared by Camp Dresser&McKee Inc. The pipe had to be installed trenchlessly due to space limitations and the historic status of the project site. Many of the gingerbread style homes in this 34-acre, 312-cottage enclave, known officially as the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association, were built in the 1860's. The neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Due to winter weather conditions on Martha's Vineyard and the number of relatively short drill sections required to complete the project during the off-season, Farrissey Tele- Comm was licensed, trained and qualified by UGSI to fuse Fusible C-900®. The pipe was successfully installed, pressure tested, and put into water service during the winter of 2006. For additional project information contact Martin Barrette.
