The design and specifications called for either Fusible C-905® pipe or conventional C905 bell-andspigot PVC pipe. Fusible C-905® pipe provided a fully-restrained, gasketless pipe system, eliminating the mechanical bell restraints that would have been required for bell-and-spigot pipe. By using Fusible C-905® pipe, Legacy was still able to use standard MJ fittings, valves and Megalug® hardware systems.
Design Engineer, Paul Lohman, of GC Wallace in Las Vegas, NV stated: "We were pleased that Legacy chose Fusible C-905® pipe. The fully-restrained, gasketless nature of this product will prove beneficial in this sensitive wash environment for our client. This is the first installation of a Fusible PVC™ system in Nevada and GCW is pleased to lead the way."
Cresent Hardy, of Legacy Construction and Development, added: "Underground Solutions was incredibly supportive with their on-site construction management team. They were able to pre-fuse pipe ahead of our excavation crews which allowed us to reach maximum production rates. We are very happy with Fusible PVC™ pipe and will use it on future projects."
