Both FPVC™ and HDPE were approved materials for this project. FPVC™ was selected because of its superior strength characteristics compared to HDPE, allowing Ventura Drilling to downsize from the 14" and 12" HDPE to 12" and 10" FPVC™, respectively. FPVC™ offered a reduced O.D. with equal or greater flow area at an equivalent pressure class compared to HDPE, reducing overall installation risk on the project.
