Rehabilitation of Multiple Water Lines
Underground Solutions was contracted by Southern Pipeline Construction to install approximately 2,000 linear feet of the patented Duraliner™ pipeline rehabilitation system on 11th Street, 12th Street, 13th Street, Magnolia Avenue and Ormsby Avenue in Louisville.
Five Underground Solutions personnel were on site to perform the installation and expansion of Duraliner™. Their efforts resulted in new pressure pipe installed with minimal disruptions. The installation of Duraliner™ also enabled Louisville Water to renew water lines in locations unsuited for standard dig and replace methods.
Existing cast iron pipe runs which were replaced with Duraliner™:
- 80 linear feet of 12" - 12th Street and Ormsby Avenue
- 570 linear feet of 8" - Ormsby Avenue between 11th and 12th Streets
- 610 linear feet of 6" - Ormsby Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets
- 540 linear feet of 6" - 11th Street between Magnolia Avenue and the railroad
- 60 linear feet of 6" - 9th Street and Magnolia Avenue
- 50 linear feet of 6" - 10th Street at Ormsby
Conclusion: Underground Solutions successfully installed Duraliner™ as specified by the project. In each case, the contractors with Southern Pipe and the Project Leader from Louisville Water were fully satisfied with project completion and workmanship.
